The latex business unit manages four product lines: Pliocord® VP latex, Pliocord® SB latex, Chemigum® latex and Pliolite® SB Latex.
These latices have been designed each in their respective domain of application to satisfy the ever evolving
industry needs.
The quality and consistency of these latices
have been our primary focus and have been the driving factors for process
improvement and product development in compliance with the most stringent
technical requirements
of the different industries that we serve such
as tires, glove, brake lining, gaskets for automotive, paper, etc.
Pliocord® VP latex and Chemigum® latex are produced in the Le Havre plant in France, dedicated to the emulsion polymerization process. Chemigum Latex is also produced in the Valia, India plant along with the Pliolite® SB Latex to cater to the fast growth of these products in Asia.
Pliocord® SB latex is manufactured in Houston, in one of the world’s largest synthetic rubber plants.

PLIOCORD® VP latex, PLIOCORD® SB
LATEX
Pliocord latex is the ELIOKEM trade name for vinyl-pyridine and SBR latex
specifically developed for the adhesion between rubber stock and fabric
reinforcement materials. The adhesive compound, so called RFL, is based
on VP latex and resorcinol formaldehyde resin. RFL are designed according
to the fiber type, the end use, the chemical and mechanical requirements
but also the dipping process.
Typical applications include the manufacture of tires, conveyor belts,
hoses and other industrial products.
A worldwide recognition
Every year, nearly 300,000 tons of fabrics are treated with Pliocord
VP latex. More than 100 customers, in 35 countries are relying on
ELIOKEM's long term commitment to the tire and rubber industry.
