Sunigum^® elastomer is a precrosslinked, acrylate terpolymer with functional carboxylic groups. Is is intrinsically resistant to degradation by heat and UV radiation, and to many chemicals including oils & fuels. Its novel composition and structure make it compatible with a wide range of polar resins: PVC, CPE, COPE, TPU, ASA/ABS/SAN and other polymers with some polarity such as ethylene copolymers (EVA and EMA provided the co-monomer content is at least 20%). Although Sunigum is not directly compatible with non polar resins, it can be blended with polyolefins through reactive compatibilization techniques, for example using glycidyl containing ethylene copolymers as compatibilizers.

Sunigum's^® basic properties and flexibilizing potential allow users to tailor-make softer grades of general-purpose and engineering grade thermoplastic elastomers where aesthetics, color-retention and weatherability are of prime importance.
