For many years, Eliokem has been a leading producer of phenolic and diphenylamine antioxidants marketed under the Wingstay® trade name.


Wingstay® antioxidants are used in wide varieties of rubber and plastic products that require protection from their environment.

Without such a protection the rubber and plastic goods would be presenting a lot of failures from softening and stickiness in some cases to hardening and embrittlement to the extreme. Beside uses in rubber and plastic articles, phenolic antioxidants are important ingredients in gasoline, oil, grease, fat, food and synthetic latices.

The intrinsic value of these age resistors is difficult to estimate, but they do offer many direct and indirect benefits which have had a positive effect on the use of rubber and plastic in our society.

For example it is assumed that the life of a certain rubber or plastic articles is quadrupled by the use of age resisters. Then service life cost is dramatically reduced.

Eliokem has positionned itself to meet the ever growing demand for more cost effective materials in new applications and is constantly investigating areas and markets where Wingstay antioxidants will bring more value to the final product, increasing their service life.

WINGSTAY® ANTIOXIDANTS

Eliokem is producing primary antioxidants such as Wingstay® 29, F, L, S, T.

Those bearing a letter designation are non staining and non discoloring. They effectively inhibit degradation due to oxidation even in the presence of stimulating influences such as heat and shear. Being hindered phenols they will not hydrolyse in the presence of moisture. The liquid grades are readily emulsifiable to form stable emulsions.

Wingstay® 29 is an amine type sligthly discoloring but non staining. It is designed for maximum effectiveness and persistence due to its low volatility.

Wingstay® antioxidants are used in numerous and diverse applications such as :
  • Adhesives (pressure sensitive and hot melt)


  • Latex based products (Gloves, Elastic, Threads, Carpet Backing, Foams)


  • Lubricants


  • Agrochemistry (intermediates)


  • Plastic (ABS) & TPE compounds


  • Polymer stabilisation (SBR, CR, IR, NBR, BR)
